My Updates
So apparently, I'm doing the Cateran Yomp in Scotland in June 2027
Why? Excellent question. I have absolutely no idea.
Somewhere along the way, someone mentioned hiking through the beautiful Scottish countryside, and instead of suggesting a nice scenic walk followed by a pub, I apparently agreed to 54 MILES OF VOLUNTARY SUFFERING.
That's right. 54 miles. On foot. Through hills. In Scotland. Where the weather has commitment issues.
My qualifications?
✅ Former military — so I'm familiar with making questionable decisions while carrying a backpack.
✅ I enjoy traveling — apparently sightseeing from a moving vehicle is too easy.
✅ I love my friends — although I'm beginning to question whether the feeling is mutual.
✅ I enjoy a challenge — but evidently have no concept of reasonable limits.
The goal is to finish, enjoy Scotland, raise money for a great cause, and hopefully remain friends with everyone involved.
I'm expecting beautiful scenery, sore feet, questionable language, snacks, blisters, and at least one dramatic declaration that I'm never doing this again.
Will I survive? Probably.
Will I complain? Absolutely.
Will there be snacks? There better be.
And when someone asks why I'm doing this, my official answer is: Because apparently a regular vacation wasn't expensive or painful enough.
