Welcome to Perthshire.
It’s just an hour and a half north of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
But it’s another world.
Yomp through the most remote and wild parts of Scotland. Climb over 2,000 meters in brutally rough terrain. Watch the sun go down and walk through the night, just you and your mates. Lean on each other. Dig deep and discover a strength you didn’t know you had.
Bring it on. Because when the sun comes up, you’ll know. You are exactly where you were always meant to be.
Stretching through the high mountains of the Cairngorms, to the farmland of Strathmore, to the footpaths of the Angus Glens, the route is stunning. Brutal, but stunning. Don’t forget to look up.
It’s fully marked-out and signposted, with seven waterstops and three checkpoints along the way. We’ll bring the cake.
Ahead of the day, we’ll send you a map pack with descriptions, co-ordinates and an OS route. Study it. It’s a long enough walk already without getting lost.
Getting here is easy. It all starts at our Event Hub near Blairgowrie, a 90 minute drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow. We’re close to the A9, A90 and the A93, with mainline stations nearby at Perth, Pitlochry and Dundee.
Everything kicks off on Friday 7 June. That’s when you register, get your event number, go to the safety briefing, meet your fellow Yompers and eat All The Carbs at our famous Friday night pasta party.
The Event Hub Campsite is open from 14:00 on Friday 7 June until 12:00 on Sunday 9 June. Enjoy the hot showers and toilets. It’ll be a while before you see one of those again.
If you're planning a trip to Perthshire we recommend the Ericht Holiday Lodges. A dog friendly family business run by Blairgowrie locals. The self-catering lodges are cosy, warm and just what you need after exploring the local area.
The adventure doesn’t end with the Yomp (although you may want to have a little lie down first). If you want to extend your stay, or just don’t fancy camping, there are plenty of hotels, B&Bs and self-catering cottages nearby – Visit Cateran Country has all the info.
