Going on a long walk
On 6 to 7 June 2026, I will be taking on the Cateran Yomp, a 54-mile hike across rural Perthshire, all within 24 hours. We are quietly hopeful that we might even manage to complete it a little faster, aiming for under 20 hours.
It's going to be a tough challenge, and the training has already involved plenty of time on the treadmill and trips out of London in search of some proper hills.
I am doing the Yomp to help raise funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, the national charity of the British Army. The charity provides lifetime support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families when they need it most.
As some of you will know, I grew up moving around quite a bit and was very fortunate to experience life in a military family. My dad served for 22 years, and as a family we owe so much to the Army community, which continues to be a big part of our lives today. Taking on this challenge is my way of giving something back and helping support others in that community.
Anything you are able to donate would be hugely appreciated, and we will keep you updated as the adventure unfolds.
Thank you very much for your support.
