The Cateran Yomp 2026

On the 6 - 7 June 2026, I am taking on the Cateran Yomp. A 54-mile hike in 24 hours across rural Perthshire.

It’s going to be tough but it will raise vital funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.

Please give generously, and thank you for all your support.

My Updates

Taking on the Cateran Yomp (Pray for My Feet)

This year, I’m taking on the Cateran Yomp alongside some old school friends — a few of whom have served in the military — to raise money for the Army Benevolent Fund.

For anyone picturing a gentle countryside stroll… it’s not. The route is 54 miles long, and we have to complete it within 24 hours. That means walking through the day, through the night, over hills, through whatever weather Scotland decides to throw at us — and doing it all on very tired legs. I’m fully expecting blisters to become part of my identity and at least one moment where I seriously question every decision that led me here.

But we’re doing it for a reason.

The Army Benevolent Fund supports soldiers, veterans, and their families when they face real hardship — from injury and illness to financial struggles and life-changing circumstances. It’s a charity that steps in when people need it most.

Walking this challenge alongside friends who’ve worn the uniform makes it even more meaningful. I’ve seen the dedication and sacrifice that military service demands. Compared to that, 54 relentless miles feels like a small way to give something back.

I’m aiming to raise £1,000, and every donation will go towards helping those who have given so much for others.

This Yomp will test us physically and mentally — but it’s nothing compared to the challenges many veterans and their families face long after service ends. If you’re able to donate, you’re not just supporting my sore legs — you’re helping provide real, practical support to people who truly deserve it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, for your encouragement, and for any support you can give. It genuinely means more than I can say.
