The Cateran Yomp 2026

What blisters?

The Army Benevolent Fund is dedicated to supporting everyone connected to the armed forces - those currently serving, veterans and their families. The charity offers essential support, from mental health care and employment assistance to guidance through the often challenging transition back to civilian life.

This year, as part of our Military, Veteran and Reservists EDI Network a team from the Growth Company will be stepping up (quite literally) to take on The Cateran Yomp.

We’ll be joining hundreds of fellow ‘yompers’ on the 6 - 7 June as we trek continuously for 54 miles, braving 24 demanding hours through the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains.

Based on an infamous long-distance military training march, the Yomp demands grit, resilience, teamwork and endurance. I’ve been reliably informed we should prepare for volatile, four-seasons-in-a-day weather, ranging from intense heat and sunshine (in Scotland, you sure?) to torrential rain and hail. One comment from a past participant that has stayed with me is that they faced 5 hours of rain at mile 25. Excuse me?!

It’s going to be tough but we’re training and preparing to push through it to achieve our individual and team goals, all while ensuring a lifetime of support for soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.

I’m delighted that one of our core values at GC is Stronger Together as I intend to test this fully by requesting a piggyback as the blisters kick in!

Thank you for supporting our GC team on this incredible challenge.
