The Cateran Yomp 2026

ARMY BENEVOLENT FUND

On the 6 - 7 June 2026, I am taking on the Cateran Yomp.  This will be more than just a hike; it will test my limits as I tackle this solo. This will be my 3rd Yomp, and I have decided to go for the gold medal and complete 54-mile (87 km) hike in 24 hours across rural Perthshire.

It’s going to be tough but funds raised will be given for the Army Benevolent Fund, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.

Thank you for your generosity and the support.

My Updates

Four Weeks to Go

It's only four weeks until the 2026 Yomp. I am pretty excited, but there is still some trepidation about it.

Last week I was recovering from a chest infection and the antibiotics helped with that;  and this weekend while doing a (very) slow Fan Dance I managed to bruise one of my toes. Needless to say I have had a look at my insoles and replaced them.

This blog was actually just to give a massive thanks to all you great people that have sponsored me.  I believe this is a truly good charity and donations are all well utilised.

Thanks again for your support.
