The Cateran Yomp 2026

86Km in 24h !!!

On the 6th and 7th of June, I’ll be taking on 86 km in 24 hours as part of the Cateran Yomp, a challenge unlike anything I’ve done before! I’ll be hiking across rural Scotland alongside army veterans and others walking in solidarity. I’ve always felt a strong connection to the outdoors, from exploring the jungles of Guyana as a child to trekking through the forests of Laos in South East Asia, hiking through the exceptional scenery of Belle-Île, crossing Dartmoor National Park in a 50 km straight line, and more recently completing the 25 bumps in Fontainebleau. This is by far the most demanding challenge I’ve set myself, both physically and mentally, and while covering that distance in such a short time will be tough, I am really looking forward to it.

I’m taking on this challenge in support of injured members of the armed forces, and particularly in honour of my father, who served in multiple conflicts during his career. Growing up, I was inspired by his resilience, discipline, and dedication to his country and this challenge is a way of carrying those values forward while pushing myself to new limits.

I’m supporting the Army Benevolent Fund, the national charity for the British Army. They provide practical help, care, and support to injured soldiers, veterans, and their families, whether that’s funding rehabilitation, providing equipment for independent living, or helping with housing and mental wellbeing. Every donation helps improve the lives of those who have served and the families who support them every day.

I am proud to support such an important cause and excited to challenge myself. Every step I take during this hike will be for the injured service members and their families, and knowing that your support can make a real difference makes this challenge even more meaningful to me.

Thank you for your support,

Margaux
