The Cateran Yomp 2026

Army Benevolent Fund

On the 6 - 7 June 2026, I am taking on the Cateran Yomp. A 54-mile hike in 24 hours across rural Perthshire.

Ten years ago I was serving in the Reserve Forces. It was at my Annual Medical the Doctor diagnosed me with Palpitations. This led on to further tests at local Hospital.

Turned out I was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and leaking Aortic valve . So I ended up having OHS to replace the valve in 2015. Prior to that I showed no symptoms of heart problems whatsoever.

I’m forever grateful to the Army if it wasn’t for that Doctor .I dread to think what could have happened if I remained untreated .So that’s my incentive for undertaking Yomp. In order to say thank you and give something back . Plus as I tell people the engine has had a full service ready to go for it . Massive thank you for all support and donations .No matter how big or small thank you all❤️
