The penultimate punishment
So this is it, the final practice, the big rehearsal, the last chance to fake an injury to get out of this silliness.
Target - 60km, 2000m height total, 5kph and 12 hours.
We walked the jurassic coast, weymouth to the pointy bit on the right. 30k out, 30k back. What we encountered was rain almost constantly and 40mph winds. We battled through it with only the tiniest stop in a cafe for succor. It was only a short stop, just time enough for tyla to throw a mocha all over the table and phone, then back on the trail.
We had to call the day early as some of our lighter members were genuinely in danger if being blown off the path, and when said path is bordered by a 60ft cliff thats a bit of a concern. We still managed 45k in 8 hours, and an astonishing 2200m of elevation. Well done to all for facing that terrifying beast: the British weather. Really proud of the team, conditions really were foul, but everyone grizzed it, with the minimun of complaints, and we got a good pace for our dress rehearsal.
Only got to do the actual walk now.
Oh dear.
Side note, thanks so much to everyone who has donated to our team so far! So many thanks and appreciation for your generosity! You're all awesome!
Good luck. May the weather gods be kind to you all.
