From the tender age of 19, armed with a fiery ambition to make a difference, I stepped into the world of military service, following the venerable path laid by my ancestors. My journey was marked by dedication, contributing significantly to operations worldwide 

Yet, fate had its twist. In 2010, during a fierce encounter with the Taliban, a life-altering bullet struck me, casting shadows of doubt over my future mobility. But succumbing to despair was not in my book. Fuelled by my granny's wisdom that a positive mind conquers all, I chose resilience and hope over defeat.

Today, as the national charity ambassador for the Army Benevolent Fund, Now, I proudly serve as the national charity ambassador for the Army Benevolent Fund for 13 years, and I've embarked on some truly extraordinary walking events. Despite being reversed over by a van, I walked from John O'Groats to Land's End in 85 days, becoming the first disabled person in the world to accomplish this incredible feat. Through my fundraising efforts for Scotty's Little Soldiers, I've earned the nickname "Cumbrian Capt, Tom," and even the Veterans Minister has hailed me as a legend for my unwavering dedication to supporting the military community.
