About Matt and Phreds Jazz Bar
Why We Chose This Venue
Matt and Phreds is Manchester through and through: warm, welcoming, creative, a bit unpredictable, and always full of heart. It’s the perfect backdrop for A Night at the Speakeasy — a night of live jazz, community, celebration, and raising funds for the Army Benevolent Fund.
What to Expect at Matt and Phreds
Matt and Phreds is everything a proper jazz bar should be: low lighting, warm atmosphere, red velvet seats, exposed brickwork, and a stage that has seen legends, newcomers, and everything in between. Expect an intimate, buzzing room built for live music, laughter, and that unmistakable Manchester energy.
For A Night at the Speakeasy, the venue transforms into a 1920s‑flavoured hideout — perfect for live vintage jazz and a bit of ABF fundraising mischief.
Food and Drink
Matt and Phreds offers table service with a menu full of crowd‑pleasers — from cocktails and craft beers to pizzas, small plates, and their well‑loved house specials. It’s the perfect balance of laid‑back comfort and proper night‑out vibes.
