A Night at the Speakeasy

Sunday 12th July 2026

Matt and Phreds Jazz Club, Manchester

Meet Your Host: Jim Bob

We’re delighted to welcome Jim Bob as host for A Night at the Speakeasy in Manchester. A proud Army veteran and Bolton local, Jim Bob brings a unique blend of warmth, wit, and lived experience to the evening.

As he builds towards his first-ever one-man show at the Edinburgh Fringe, we’re excited to have him join us for a special night in his home region.

Jim Bob will be guiding the evening as your host—bringing personality, humour, and connection to the room.

This event is about more than just a great night out—it’s about supporting soldiers, veterans, and their families.

Jim Bob’s own background in the Army gives him a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by those who serve and we are incredibly excited that he will be joining us to help raise vital funds for our Army family.

About Jim Bob

Jim Bob is an award-winning comedian, host and MC. His comedy material is shaped by two very different worlds: life in the Army and life as a single parent.

He is known for his honest storytelling and sharp observations, speaking openly about fatherhood, personal challenges, and finding humour in unexpected places. His natural presence and quick wit have made him a popular and respected voice on the comedy circuit.

Hailing from nearby Bolton, Jim Bob is a familiar face in the North West comedy scene—making this a great opportunity to see him as part of a unique Manchester event.
