TCS London Marathon 2026

I've created this page to make a difference in the lives of soldiers, veterans and their families.

I'm inspired by the work of the Army Benevolent Fund and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in 2026 TCS London Marathon. The ABF is the Army's national charity, supporting individuals and families as well as other leading charities to ensure help is there for soldiers, for life. Last year, they supported individuals aged from just 1 day old to 104 years old. You can read more of their stories here.

Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'donate' button. The more people that know about ABF, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

My Updates

So that is what all the fuss is about. Incredible atmosphere, generous support and a welcome at the finish; London 26 was a great journey. Thank you all for your support. Your money will help the serving and veteran community.

26 people, 26 stories, 26 miles

For the final stages of my training I've been joined by people linked to chaplaincy. Each of them has a story to tell about their own journey, and some thoughts on the important links between chaplaincy and our charity partners. You can catch up on some of these stories on the following social media feeds:

26 for 26 in 26

So this is me - my name is Michael but most people call me Mike.  Actually, that’s a lie - most people call me CG or more formally Chaplain General. I’m the 26th incumbent of this post since 1796, but almost certainly the first to take on the London Marathon while serving. 2026 will be my 26th year of service in the Army, what better way to mark this than by running 26 miles. Over the coming months I hope to share something of my journey to 26 with you. In doing so, perhaps you will join me in raising funds for the Army’s national charity - the Army Benevolent Fund. Supporting them so they can support the whole Army family.
