Are you looking for an exceptional evening event this summer? Why not join us for this rare opportunity to experience a spectacular performance of the historic British Army Ceremony of Beating Retreat.  The Band of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment will provide a musical marching display leading to the finale at sunset. This historic ceremony is centuries old and was used to recall troops to the safety of the camp at sunset.  Nowadays it provides the framework for a memorable musical marching display, and this rare opportunity will be set against the backdrop of the impressive Stonyhurst College.

About Stonyhurst College

Stonyhurst College has a long and proud association with the British Army, shaped by centuries of tradition, service, and leadership. The College has educated generations of pupils who have gone on to serve as officers and soldiers across the armed forces, guided by values of discipline, courage, and duty.

This legacy is powerfully reflected in the seven Victoria Crosses awarded to Old Stonyhurst alumni. The Victoria Cross is the highest award for gallantry, and these honours stand as a testament to extraordinary bravery and the enduring military ethos fostered at Stonyhurst.
