FOLLOW THE HISTORIC ROUTE WALKED BY AUSTRALIAN AND BRITISH POW’S, KNOWN AS THE “DEATH MARCH”

The Trek

Trace the steps of the Prisoners of War, who endured extreme conditions on the gruelling Death March from Sandakan PoW camp to Jessleton. Taking place in the dense jungles of Borneo, you’ll follow as much of the original route as possible, including Mount Trusmadi, Borneo’s second-highest and most challenging peak. This trek is not only a test of endurance but a profound homage to resilience and remembrance.

Itinerary

Day 1/2: London – Kota Kinabalu
Day 3: Kota Kinabalu – Tawai Forest Reserve – Bauto Hill Trek (8km)
Day 4: Tawai Forest Reserve – Kopuron Village (18km)
Day 4: Kopuron Village – Taviu Hill – Sabah Tea Plantation (8km)
Day 5: Nabutan Village – Muruk Village (18km)
Day 6: Poring Hot Springs – Tambunan
Day 7/8: Mount Trusmadi Summit (10km)
Day 9: Kota Kinabalu - London
