It is my 50th birthday in 2026 and wanted to set myself a tough challenge: to run the 2027 London Marathon in under 3 hours.
Living in Plymouth and having a son who plays rugby for Devonport Services means that, although I have no family link to the armed forces, I feel a strong connection, and a great deal of respect, to all the people who serve in the military.
I have kicked off fundraising with a donation of 1,250 myself and would love, rather than giving me anything for my 50th (if indeed you were going to!) that you instead consider a donation.
If you wanted to help supercharge my motivation during some inevitably wet, cold and windy winter training days, I would love you to consider pledging a donation 'bonus' if I manage to beat 3hrs. When I reach those notoriously dark times after 30k, knowing there’s extra money for the charity riding on the result, might be just the motivation I need.
