The Cateran Yomp 2025

Coming back for more

Ten years, I am back on the 7 - 8 June 2025, to take part in the Cateran Yomp. A 54-mile hike in 24 hours across rural Perthshire.

It’s going to be tougher than ever...I will have to hold myself back, not compare myself to previous successes and ensure I stay safe and not injure myself!

I will be raising vital funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families.

Please give generously, and thank you for all your support.

My Updates

2025 done

Taking an easy pace, enjoying the company and scenery made for a fantastic day on Saturday.

I was on a high mentally and physically, enjoying every minute of the sunshine, rain and hills.

Thanks to everyone for their sponsorship and to the full WG&S squad for all the laughs and support.

Less than two weeks to go

Skye has enjoyed all the longer and off road walks as I prepare for the Yomp.  For me its been a struggle to balance getting the miles in, focus on my physio and quieten the voice of you should be quicker/faster.

The walk around Sheriffmuir and up the Dumyat hill on Saturday was a good test for what is to come.  I am as ready as I could be!

Post Yomp, I will be back to my Physio :-)

10 years on

I completed my first Yomp with WG&S in 2015. Across the next three years I completed the Yomp, with some wonderful people; Big Ian McLaren, Ewen Cameron, Kirsten Macfarlane and my nephew, James.  Each year we got faster, running more and taking shorter breaks, getting to the top 10 finishers and the 2nd woman in.

10 years later, I am giving it another go but with a different goal...testing myself after rupturing my Achilles last year.  My target is enjoy the experience, make it to Bronze and not injure myself!
