I'm taking part in the Frontline Walk: The Western Front. I'll be trekking 100km following in the footsteps of those who fought on the Somme and Passchendaele battlefields during the First World War. This year is the 110th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme and I will be paying my respects to one of my Great Grandfathers on the Redan Ridge near the end of day 1, as well as paying my respects on behalf of friends at various other locations throughout the 3 days. If you would like me to lay a cross on your behalf, just let me know and we can discuss the details, or even find them out if you don’t know them.
It’s always a physically and emotionally tough challenge, but I'm doing it all for a great cause: Army Benevolent Fund, the National Charity of the British Army. They support soldiers, veterans and their families when they need it most. They also help many other Forces charities deliver their support, through providing funds/grants, enabling them to achieve their missions, providing support where it really matters.
