We are proud to present Ten Heroes, One City at War — a commemorative VIP Drinks Reception / Gala Dinner that will honour the ten remarkable servicemen from Birmingham who were awarded the Victoria Cross during the 1914-18 World War. This unforgettable evening will not only highlight their extraordinary bravery and sacrifice but also offer a glimpse into life in Birmingham during the First World War, with a special focus on the museum’s pivotal role in the war effort as the Number 11 Recruitment Office between 1914 and 1918. The success of this recruitment campaign led to the formation of three City Battalions attached to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, a defining moment in both local and national history.
The event will raise vital funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, supporting veterans and their families, continuing the legacy of service and sacrifice.

This prestigious black-tie gala is inspired by “Ten Heroes, One City at War”a deeply moving tribute based on the book written by Deputy Lieutenant Richard Boot. Which you can read here.
